Key responsibilities: · Developer for Hadoop platform on major government programme · Analysis, authoring of user stories and detailed design · Development of code, configuration and build of unit tests · Provide Hadoop and big data expertise · Provide Java expertise · Engage with all members of the scrum team to ensure the technology meets the user needs |
Essential
- Strong, demonstrable experience with Java, Web Services, REST
- Experience with dependency injection
- Experience with automated testing & build
- Willing to undergo government security clearance (SC level)
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt
- Drive and desire to further your skillset and lead in the architecture domain
- Worked on programmes and projects £1 million+
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build rapport with team members and clients
Desirable
- Good experience across the Hadoop stack
- Some experience with HBase and NoSQL
- Experience with cloud hosted platforms
- Experience with Hortonworks
- Experience with agile delivery
